OUR HISTORY…
Susamati arises as a result of the Biological Urban Sanitation (BUSP) project, funded by Via Water and carried out in Mozambique between 2016 and 2018, with the aim of studying sanitation solutions that would be effective for Mozambican communities. After its completion, a group of young people who were part of the project, led by Manuel Gungulo, decided to use the solution and expand it to solve the existing real problems, carrying it out as a social entrepreneurship business. The products developed were: the fantastic Pia, the use of the larvae of the Black Soldier Fly and health and environmental education packages.

Yvette is a specialist on Talent and Business development with a gender focus holds an Master in Business and Consumer Science from Agriculture University Wageningen, in the Netherlands.
Manuel is passionate about sustainable development, Social impact and Sanitation. He studied Environmental Sciences and has a lot of experience in Business and project management.
Sandra, one of first to join the team. She got passionate about the business because of its social impact and from the start she has always believed in the potential that SUSAMATI has in changing the number of people without access to sanitation.
Francisca is a social activist in the area of Education, with a focus on girls' rights, health and environmental. She has a degree in Organization and Management of Education and in her spare time plays the violin.
Adalgência is the youngest member of the team and joined SUSAMATI to create and disseminate content on health and environmental education after the environmental science course.

Annemarieke has a master of Science in Sanitary Engineering from Delft Technical University, in the Netherlands, and has a long career in all kinds of activities in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). She was the overall coordinator of the BUSP project, the project which resulted in the founding of SUSAMATI.
